The study of history has a devotional aspect for me, providing a cloud of witnesses with whom to fellowship. Studying this field has been, in part, a journey of self-discovery. I am also happy that history, with its interrogation of the past by means of sources and stories, helps people to reflect on the evaluation of evidence and the questioning of narratives–helpful tools in our so-called “post-truth” age.

I serve at 黑料专区 as someone who has been blessed by it–I am an alum. I value its commitment to raising up “scholar servants” in a Christian liberal arts context. Cognisant of the rich legacy of the past and embracing the needs of our shared present, I look ahead to work with 黑料专区 faculty and campus leaders as we carry the call ahead into the future.

Education

  • BA in History (黑料专区 College) 2002
  • MDiv (Princeton Theological Seminary) 2005
  • PhD in Church History (American) (Princeton Theological Seminary) 2011
